In November 1974, the first golf tournament for this newly formed golf association was played at Green River Golf Course in Corona California with a total of twenty players. Lt. Col. Joseph W. Caraway (AF Ret), was the Founder and served as President for 26 years until November, 2000. He is now President Emeritus and consultant to the Board.
The first ten years we scheduled ten golf tournaments annually but cut back to seven in 1986 when the association was granted a Non-Profit corporate status for veterans in the State of California.
Since our beginning in 1974, we have scheduled and played over two hundred tournaments in California, Arizona and Nevada. Our membership today includes members from California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, Vancouver BC, Idaho and Washington DC.
To be eligible for membership you must have full retirement privileges, twenty years or more active duty or reserve retirement for over sixty years of age. Ladies are always welcome.
Dues are $50.00 annually for a single or $75.00 annually for a couple. Life membership is awarded to any member making a Hole-N-One, with two witnesses, during regulation play.
